I’ve just discovered this gorgeous generative art piece ‘Frosti: Deterministic Generative Art’ (music from Bjork) from Zen Bullets aka Matt Pearson, based right here in Brighton. Check out his blog and other sites including 100 abandoned artworks, featuring some processing experiments with source code included. There’s also some articles worth reading too. Very inspiring stuff! But I was wondering when this guy sleeps?
I found this along with some other very useful sites/content from the Brighton New Media site – a resource aimed at people working within Brighton’s new media industry. You can sign up to their email list (which has at times some very random threads but some relevant stuff too!)
Ojos De Brujo & La Troba Kung-Fu, Brighton

Ojos De Brujo, Brighton Dome
We went to see Ojos De Brujo supported by La Troba King Fu, last night at the Brighton Dome. La Troba immediately got the audience on their feet the moment they started their Columbian cumbia gypsy Catalan Rumba dub inspired tunes with immense energy and enthusiasm – loved it!
Ojos De Brujo started their fantastic set with a single stunning dancer performing the passion and magic of Flamenco. ODB continued to perform tracks from their new album Aocaca and then some classics from Techari & Bari. Their usual mix of street Rumba, gypsy Flamenco, rap together with the raw beauty of Marina’s vocals mixed in a nomadic wave of experimentation and energy, didn’t fail to disappoint. My Spanish born friends and I twirled, clapped and ole’d our evening away in audio ecstasy.

Why does Spain have Flamenco and the brits get Morris Dancing? Go figure…
