PORTFOLIO - PERSONAL WORK

This is perhaps my favourite section. Personal projects enable me to explore and experiment. Using a variety of media from painted images to pen to vector images produced in Illustrator, they will usually find their way into Photoshop at some point where the real experimentation begins.

Danse

'Danse'

Danse is an experiement using Photoshop blending modes, adjustment layers and specifically channels. From isolating complex images (in this case bones, feathers and hair) to using a soft brush to subtly mask out areas resulting in more naturally blended elements, this work in progress has enlightened me to yet more powerful Photoshop features.

After Erin

'After Erin'

After Erin was an experiment using one of the following: a hand drawn sketch, a photograph, a monoprint and a vector image. I basically wanted to take a set of elements and just see what would happen in Photoshop. This was the result, inspired by the model Erin O'Connor.

Under Water

'Under Water'

This royalty free image was used to experiment with how far I could maniplate an image within Photoshop using nothing more than blending modes and colour adjustments. Click the image and see the before and after.

Boudica Experiment

'Boudica Experiment'

Boudica is made up from the Boudica painting, various textures made using bleach on photographs and an old circuit board with a little bit of typography thrown in for good measure. Once again, all put together in Photoshop.
